Most pop-up sprinklers on the world market are manufactured in China — but the gap between a good factory and a careless one shows up six months later, in your warranty returns. Here is the checklist experienced distributors run before placing a first order.
1. Ask who owns the tooling
If a supplier assembles from bought-in bodies and nozzles, batch consistency depends on their vendors. Factories with in-house moulds control dimensions at the source — ask which parts are moulded in-house and request dimensional reports.
2. Demand 100% testing, not sampling
Sample-based inspection lets individual stuck-gear units through. Ask whether every rotor is pressure-tested and rotated before packing, and whether test data is logged per batch.
3. Check the packaging for sea freight
A sprinkler that survives a workbench drop may not survive a container. Ask for master carton specifications and whether packaging is drop-test validated for stacked container shipping.
4. Clarify MOQ and mixed orders
Real OEM factories accept mixed trial orders because they expect the volumes to grow. If a supplier insists on a single full container for a first order, ask why.
5. Test their engineering response
Request a radius table or a performance curve before you order. How fast and how precisely they answer technical questions predicts how they will handle a warranty claim.
RainWell publishes its radius tables openly and answers technical requests within one working day. Browse the range or request a trial-order quote.
