Greenhouse Watering: Micro-Spray, Bubbler or Drip?

Three ways to water a tunnel – and the plant types each one actually suits.

Direct answer (per catalog emitter choice): turf takes pop-up spray and micro-sprays; flower beds take micro-sprays and bubblers; shrubs and hedges take drip and micro-sprays; trees take bubblers or deep root irrigators. In tunnels, micro-spray suits dense bench crops; drip suits rows and pots.

Mixing them in one greenhouse is normal – but never on one valve. Micro-spray wets leaf canopies and air; drip keeps foliage dry and targets the root ball. Schedule them as separate zones (CA08 or CJS-4G) and let the SL soil-moisture sensor arbitrate.

How often should greenhouse beds be watered?
Short, frequent cycles beat deep soaks in substrate – multi-cycle programs (6 starts per zone on the CA08) are designed for this.
Can I automate with a sensor?
Yes – the SL soil-moisture sensor pauses schedules at your set moisture thresholds (25/35/45% bands).
